Vetconekt Initiative Uganda

We are a consortium of veterinarians and animal welfare enthusiasts coming together to promote, advocate and exhibit animal welfare across Uganda. We offer veterinary sevices, organize and support community outreaches ( free pet vaccination and sterilization camps), provide customized farmer herd health programs, facilitate research and publications all to promote the knowledge, incoporation and practice of animal welfare across the nation of Uganda and beyond.

Animals Worked With

• FRODCOP: Free Roaming Dog Control Program Focuses on pet population control, pet welfare, community education and control of rabies.
• SILEMS: Sustainable Integrated Livestock Enterprise Management System: Focuses on integrating animal welfare into livestock management systems by providing herd health managements plans customized to capabilities of the farmer.

1.School Outreaches in partnership with the Local Governement(District) and Uniquely Paws: We visit primary schools and engage students on proper pet management, rabies awareness and prevention, benefits of vaccinations alongside sterilizations. We make use of books, posters and stickers with illustrations to further relay the message. 2. Community Outreach Camps: We offer free rabies vaccination, deworming, vet consultations as well as pet sterilizations within communities accross Uganda. These programs are planned and run by licenced veterinarians in collaboration with the area authourities and funding partners.
