Associate membership is open to individuals, organisations, and businesses that are committed to actively contributing to AWAU's mission and promoting its objectives — even if animal welfare is not their primary focus. International organisations and donors supporting work in Uganda are welcome to apply as Associate Members.

Click the Become a Member button on this page to access the membership application form. Once submitted your application will be reviewed by the AWAU Membership Committee and you will be contacted within a reasonable timeframe with a decision.

Yes. A membership application fee and an annual subscription renewal fee apply. Membership dues are reviewed annually by the Executive Committee. If any adjustment is being considered it is ratified by a majority vote of members at the Annual General Meeting.

Once approved you will be added to the AWAU Roster of Members in Good Standing, invited to participate in General Assembly meetings, and given access to the member profile form so your organisation can be featured on the AWAU website.

Membership may be terminated on grounds including failure to pay annual dues within 45 days of the due date, failure to comply with the AWAU constitution, violation of Uganda's animal welfare laws, or acting in a manner contrary to the interests of the alliance. Any member facing termination is given written notice and the opportunity to be heard before a decision is made.

Members in good standing are required to pay their annual subscription renewal fee on time and to uphold the provisions of the AWAU constitution and the animal welfare standards set forth by the alliance and the laws of Uganda.

Yes. International organisations that actively contribute to animal welfare work in Uganda are welcome to apply as Associate Members of AWAU.
